Dermophis occidentalis Taylor, 1955, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 37: 503. Holotype: KU 36298, by original designation. Type locality: "Dominical Road approximately 15 km. WNW of San Isidro del General in open meadow under stones", San José Province, Costa Rica; type locality discussed by Savage, 1974, Rev. Biol. Tropical, 22: 76.
