Pristimantis bustamante Chaparro, Motta, Gutiérrez, and Padial, 2012, Zootaxa, 3192: 40. Holotype: MHNC 8638, by original designation. Type locality: "Quebrada del Vino, 2745 m, Peru (Coordinates: 5° 9′ 40.06″ S, 79°12′ 2.04″ W), Distrito Namballe, Provincia San Ignacio, Departamento Cajamarca".

Known only from the type locality in the Tabaconas Namballe National Sanctuary, at 2745–3016 m elevation, , Distrito Namballe, Provincia San Ignacio, Departamento Cajamarca, Peru.
