Pristimantis nelsongalloi Valencia, Valladares-Suntasig, Tipantiza-Tuguminago, and Dueñas, 2019, Zootaxa, 4658: 511. Holotype: FHGO 13018, by original designation. Distribution

Known from two localities in evergreen montane forest: (1)  9 de Octubre, buffer zone of the Parque Nacional Sangay, in the province of Morona Santiago, and (2) Reserva Biológica Río Zuñac, from the province of Tungurahua, Ecuador.

Comment

Unassigned to species group but possibly in the Pristimantis myersi group due to its similarity to Pristimantis bicantus according to the original publication. Excluded from the Pristimantis myersi group by Franco-Mena, Guayasamin, Andrade-Brito, Yánez-Muñoz, and Rojas-Runjaic, 2023, PeerJ, 11 (e14715): 1–35, who found it phylogenetically imbedded within Pristimantis bicantus.
