Comment

In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) martinicensis series, Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 231. Synonymized with Eleutherodactylus curtipes by Lynch, 1969, Herpetologica, 25: 266, but resurrected by Lynch, 1979, Misc. Publ. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 66: 37, who provided an account (unfortunately based on what has been subsequently named as Pristimantis lutzae according to Páez and Ron, 2019, ZooKeys, 868: 100), considered it most closely related to Eleutherodactylus balionotus, and noted previous misidentifications in the literature. Almendáriz C. and Orcés, 2004, Rev. Politécnica, Quito, 25: 128, provided distributional data for Ecuador. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 128. See statement of geographic range, habitat, and conservation status (as Eleutherodactylus riveti) in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 621. : 100–1xx, discussed the taxonomic status of the populations formerly assigned to this species (now including Pristimantis lutzae, Pristimantis gloria, Pristimantis multicolor, Pristimantis chomskyi, and an unnamed species).
