Distribution

Moderate elevations (2540–3200 m) in the Cordillera Central of Colombia from the Nevado de Huila south to northern Ecuador (Carchi Department).

Comment

In the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group, near Eleutherodactylus devillei and Eleutherodactylus vertebralis, according to the original publication. In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) martinicensis series, Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 233. See comment under Eleutherodactylus sulculus. Assigned to the Eleutherodactylus devillei group by Lynch, Ruiz-Carranza, and Ardila-Robayo, 1994, Occas. Pap. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 170: 1-42, who redefined the species. Mueses-Cisneros, 2005, Caldasia, 27: 236, provided records for Putumayo, Colombia. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 128.
