Distribution

Known in southern Ecuador from the wetland complex of Oña, Nabón, Saraguro and Yacuambi, which spreads over three provinces, Loja, Azuay and Zamora-Chinchipe; this area has an altitudinal range between 3000 and 3400 m elevation and consists of herb páramo (montane grasslands and shrublands) and a wetland complex of almost 100 glacial lakes
