Pristimantis bowara Acevedo-Rincón, Armesto, and Palma, 2020, Zootaxa, 4750: 511. Holotype: MCNUP-H 165, by original designation. Distribution

Known only from two localities in the tropical humid forest and riparian zones of the settlements of San Antonio and San Lorenzo, 9.7 and 8.9 km respectively from the main road between the cities of Toledo and Saravena near the Margua River, in the lowlands of the Eastern Cordillera on its eastern flank in the Tamá National Natural Park and its buffer zone, Department of Norte de Santander, Colombia between 500 and 665 m elevation.

Comment

The sister taxon of Pristimantis nicefori according to the original publication. In the Pristimantis conspicillatus group, Pristimantis nicefori clade of Fouquet, Réjaud, Rodrigues, Ron, Chaparro, Osorno-Muñoz, Werneck, Hrbek, Lima, Camacho-Badani, Jaramillo-Martinez, and Chave, 2022, Syst. Biodiversity, 20(1: 2130464): 1–16, who reported on phylogenetics and biogeography.
