Pristimantis crepitaculus Fouquet, Peloso, Jairam, Lima, Mônico, Ernst, and Kok, 2022, Organisms Divers. Evol., 22: 1075. Holotype. MNHNP 2020.0102, by original designation. Type locality: "Mitaraka, French Guiana (2.2358 N 54.4493 W, ~ 200 m asl".

Distribution

Easternmost part of the Guiana Shield lowlands, i.e. throughout the Amapá state of Brazil and French Guiana (excepting the northwest part of the territory); upper Maroni region, which corresponds to the border with Suriname, where it is expected.

Comment

Previously confused with Pristimantis marmoratus, according to the original publication, where comparative morphology, osteology, molecular markers, and advertisement call were detailed. Included in the Pristimantis marmoratus clade of the Pristimantis unistrigatus group as delimited by Mônico, Koch, Ferrão, Fernandes, Marques, Chaparro, Rodrigues, Lima, and Fouquet, 2024, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 108203: 1–19, on molecular grounds (2 mtDNA genes and 2 nuDNA genes).
