Interfluve between the Xingu and lower Tocantins rivers in Pará state, Brazil, throughout the municipalities of Altamira (Assurini, right bank of the middle Xingu River), Portel (left bank of the lower Tocantins River), Marabá and Melgaço (Flona de Caxiuanã).

In the Craugastor conspicillatus group according to the original publication, where it was diagnosed on the basis of morphology, molecules, and call parameters. In the Pristimantis conspicillatus group, Pristimantis fenestratus clade of Fouquet, Réjaud, Rodrigues, Ron, Chaparro, Osorno-Muñoz, Werneck, Hrbek, Lima, Camacho-Badani, Jaramillo-Martinez, and Chave, 2022, Syst. Biodiversity, 20(1: 2130464): 1–16, who reported on phylogenetics and biogeography.
