Distribution

Known from the municipalities of Anapu, Senador Jose Porfirio, Altamira, Medicilândia, Brasil Novo, Uruará and Flona Tapajós regions located in the region between the rivers Xingu and Tapajós and between the  Xingu and Tocantins–Araguaia in Pará state, Brazil. See comment.

In the Pristimantis conspicillatus group and the sister taxon of Pristimantis chiastonotus, according to the original publication. See Araujo de Oliveira, Penhacek, Guimarães, Nascimento, Rodrigues, and Hernández-Ruz, 2019, MtDNA, Part A, 30: 731–738, for discussion of relationships and related, but unnamed, species. Santana-Cornélio, Araujo de Oliveira, Magalhães-Xavier, Barros-da-Silva, França, Rodrigues, and Hernández-Ruz, 2020, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 44: 729–739, discussed landscape genetics, noting strong differentiation between populations separated by the Xingu River. Araujo de Oliveira, Silva, Guimarães, Penhacek, Martínez, Rodrigues, Santana, and Hernández-Ruz, 2020, PLoS One, 15 (3: e0229971): 1–28, reported on the advertisement call. In the Pristimantis conspicillatus group, Pristimantis fenestratus clade of Fouquet, Réjaud, Rodrigues, Ron, Chaparro, Osorno-Muñoz, Werneck, Hrbek, Lima, Camacho-Badani, Jaramillo-Martinez, and Chave, 2022, Syst. Biodiversity, 20(1: 2130464): 1–16, who reported on phylogenetics and biogeography and implied that the nominal species is composed of at least two lineage-species.
