Distribution

Highlands of the Chapada Diamantina, state of Bahia, Brazil, from ca. 870 to almost 1800 m elevation, in the municipalities of Ipupiara, Piatã , and Rio de Contas.

In the Pristimantis conspicillatus group according to the original publication. In the Pristimantis conspicillatus group, Pristimantis ramagii clade of Fouquet, Réjaud, Rodrigues, Ron, Chaparro, Osorno-Muñoz, Werneck, Hrbek, Lima, Camacho-Badani, Jaramillo-Martinez, and Chave, 2022, Syst. Biodiversity, 20(1: 2130464): 1–16, who reported on phylogenetics and biogeography, and who implied that the nominal species is composed of at least two lineage-species.
