Distribution

known from the surroundings of Celica, Guachanamá and La Tolera, towns in the western Andean slopes of Loja Province in Ecuador, 2101 to 2833 m elevation.

In the Pristimantis (Huicundomantis) phoxocephalus species group according to Páez and Ron, 2019, ZooKeys, 868: 27. Székely, Székely, Ordóñez-Delgado, Armijos-Ojeda, and Vörös, 2021, PLoS One, 16(10: e0258454): 1-24, detailed the advertisement call.
