See discussion by Faivovich, Cruz, and Peixoto, 2002, J. Herpetol., 36: 325–327, who moved this species from Scinax into Hyla and placed Hyla arianae into synonymy. Hartmann, Hartmann, and Haddad, 2004, Amphibia-Reptilia, 25: 395–406, described (as Hyla cf. ehrhardti) reproductive biology as well as advertisement call. In the Aplastodiscus albofrenatus group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 82. Conte, Lingnau, and Kwet, 2005, Salamandra, 41: 147–151, described the advertisement call, discussed the range, and provided records for the states of São Paulo and Paraná.
