Hypsiboas diabolicus Fouquet, Martinez, Zeidler, Courtois, Gaucher, Blanc, Lima, Marques-Souza, Rodrigues, and Kok, 2016, Zootaxa, 4084: 87. Holotype: KU168874, by original designation. Type locality: "Nouragues biological station near “Pont Ficelle” on Crique Nouragues, (4.08479, -52.68063, 100 m elevation) in the Reserve Naturelle des Nouragues, municipality of Régina, French Guiana".

Known from French Guiana (west right to the Surinam line) south into central and western Amapá, Brazil, on the Pará border. 


Formerly confused with Hypsiboas geographicus according to the original publication.
