Hyla granosa gracilis Melin, 1941, Göteborgs K. Vetensk. Vitterh. Samh. Handl., Ser. B, 1: 21. Syntypes: NHMG 467 (2 specimens), according to Duellman, 1977, Das Tierreich, 95: 62. Type locality: "Rio Uaupés (north of Ipanoré), [Amazonas,] Brazil".

Distribution

Known with certainty in Brazil from the type locality “Rio Uaupes (north of Ipanoré); the Municipality of Novo Airão (Parque Nacional do Jaú, and Parque Nacional de Anavilhanas), state of Amazonas; and in Venezuela from Canaripó; San José de Chipiro, boca del río Ventuari; Macuruco, confluencia Orinoco-Ventuari,; and from Iwokrama, Guyana. This species occurs syntopically with Boana cinerascens and may occur more widely

Removed from the synonymy of Boana cinerascens by Sturaro, Costa, Maciel, Lima, Rojas-Runjaic, Mejia, Ron, and Peloso, 2020, Zootaxa, 4750: 14 (who included it in the Boana punctata group), where it had been placed by Rivero, 1972 "1971", Caribb. J. Sci., 11: 181. See comment under Boana cinerascens for literature likely addressing this species as (then) part of Boana cinerascens
