Comment

Possibly related to either the Hyla microcephala or Hyla minuta group according to the original publication. In Dendropsophus, but unnassigned to species group according to Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 93. See map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 241. See Barrio-Amorós, Rojas-Runjaic, and Señaris, 2019, Amph. Rept. Conserv., 13 (1: e180): 72–73, for comments on range, systematics, and literature. In the Dendropsophus minutus group of Orrico, Grant, Faivovich, Rivera-Correa, Rada, Lyra, Cassini, Valdujo, Schargel, Machado, Wheeler, Barrio-Amorós, Loebmann, Moravec, Zina, Solé, Sturaro, Peloso, Suárez, and Haddad, 2021, Cladistics, 37: 73–105, who noted that Dendropsophus gouphi lineages 1–6 of Gehara, Crawford, Orrico, Rodriguez, Lötters, Fouquet, Barrientos, Brusquetti, De la Riva, Ernst, Gagliardi-Urrutia, Glaw, Guayasamin, Hölting, Jansen, Kok, Kwet, Lingnau, Lyra, Moravec, Pombal, Rojas-Runjaic, Schulze, Señaris, Solé, Rodrigues, Twomey, Haddad, Vences, and Köhler, 2014, PLoS One, 9(9: e103958): 1–12, are best referred to Dendropsophus amicorum, although given the provisional status of this taxonomy, we should expect substantial redelimitation of species names in the future (DRF). Lescure, Dewynter, Frétey, Ineich, Ohler, Vidal, and De Massary, 2022, Bull. Soc. Herpetol. France, 181(5): 1–17, discussed the taxonomy of this nominal species and transferred all records of Dendropsophus minutus from the Guianas to apply to this name.
