Santana, Queiroz, Wanderley, São Pedro, Leite, and Garda, 2013, Amphibia-Reptilia, 34: 201–215, reported on tadpole morphology and advertisement call and doubted the validity of this taxon, which may be conspecific with Lysapsus limellusTaucce, Costa-Campos, Carvalho, and Michalski, 2022, Eur. J. Taxon., 836: 96–130, reported on distribution, literature, and conservation status for Amapá, Brazil. Schiesari, Rossa-Feres, Menin, and Hödl, 2022, Zootaxa, 5223: 59–61, detailed larval morphology and natural history. In the Pseudis limellum clade according to Caballero-Gini, Brusquetti, Bueno-Villafañe, Quinteros-Muñoz, Jairam, Rodrigues, Haddad, Fernández Ríos, and Baldo, 2024, Zool. J. Linn.
