Comment

Previously confused with Trachycephalus resinifictrix according to the original publication.  De la Riva, Köhler, Lötters, and Reichle, 2000, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 14: 35, provided the Bolivian record (as Phrynohyas resinifictrix). Forti, Foratto, Márquez, Pereira, and Toledo, 2018, PeerJ, 6(e4813): 1–19, characterized the advertisement call. See comment under Trachycephalus resinifictrix regarding populations in Venezuela that may be referable to this species.
