Distribution

Savannas and subhumid forest in the lowlands to moderate elevations from southern Tamaulipas and Queretaro, Mexico, southward to Nicaragua on the Caribbean versant and from Guerrero, Mexico, to northwestern Costa Rica on the Pacific; disjunctly on the Pacific lowlands of western to central Panama.
