Hyperolius wermuthi Laurent, 1961, Rev. Zool. Bot. Afr., 64: 71-72. Holotype: MNHNP, according to Laurent, 1985, in Frost (ed.), Amph. Species World: 219. Type locality: "Boussou . . . , champ avec mare", Mont Nimba, Ivory Coast.

Distribution

Liberia, Ivory Coast and southern Guinea, up to 1000 m elevation.

Comment

Probably a synonym of Hyperolius soror according to Laurent, 1985, in Frost (ed.), Amph. Species World: 220, and Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.: 109), and so similar to Hyperolius fusciventris that likely overlooked elsewhere. See brief account in Poynton and Broadley, 1987, Ann. Natal Mus., 28: 206. See statement of geographic range, habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 618, who noted that this taxon may be synonymous with Hyperolius sororChanning and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 396, regarded this species as a synonym of Hyperolius soror based on undisclosed morphological data.
