Distribution

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality (Baishanzu National Park, Qingyuan County, Zhejiang Province, China, 1400 to 1600 m elevation).

Comment

Most closely related to Megophrys (now Boulenophrys) kuatunensis, from which it differs in morphology, call, and molecular markers, according to the original publication; the larva was also described. Lyu, Qi, Wang, Zhang, Zhao, Zeng, Wan, Yang, Mo, and Wang, 2023, Zool. Res., Kunming, 44: 423–424, provided an account and placed this species in their Boulenophrys boettgeri group.
