English Names

Mount Fansipan horned frog (original publication). 

Fansipan Horned Toad (Poyarkov, Nguyen, Popov, Geissler, Pawangkhanant, Neang, Suwannapoom, and Orlov, 2021, Russ. J. Herpetol., 28 (3A): 37).

Distribution

Mount Fansipan at elevations between 2200 and 2813 m, Sa Pa District, Lao Cai Province, Vietnam; presumably following this mountain ridgeline into Yunnan, China. 

Comment

The sister taxon of an unnamed species + Megophrys hoanglienensis according to the original publication. Tapley, Nguyen, Cutajar, Nguyen, Portway, Luong, and Rowley, 2020, Zootaxa, 4845: 35–52, provided a detailed description of larval morphology.
