English Names

None noted.

Fakfak Mountains on the Onin Peninsula, neck of the Vogelkop, western New Guinea (Indonesia), 600-1000 m elevation.

Most closely related to Asterophrys, Metamagnusia, and Pseudocallulops according to the original publication. On the basis of the generally chaotic nature of the recovered limits of asterophryine genera Dubois, Ohler, and Pyron, 2021, Megataxa, 5: 418, placed all that they had sampled, other than Gastrophrynoides into the synonymy of Asterophrys. Nevertheless, in their tree they found Oninia high up in a group of Asterophrys (sensu stricto), the sister of Asterophrys marani
