As for the single species.

On the basis of a Bayesian analysis of four genes 16S, RAG1, TYR, and Cytb, the authors suggested that the type species is the sister of the type species of Hylarana (Hylarana erythraea), Humerana (Humerana humeralis), and Sylvirana (Sylvirana nigrovittata). However, in a study (apparently not seen by Chandramouli et al.) of substantially denser taxon and gene sampling, by Chan, Hutter, Wood, Grismer, and Brown, 2020, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 151 (106899): 1–16, found nominal Hylorana nicobariensis to be a complex of species and the sister of remaining Indosylvirana, into which they transferred the species. Being the sister of remaining Indosylvirana, the recognition of Bijurana does no violence to monophyly so is here included. Nevertheless, I (DRF) can see that the taxonomy of hylaranines is in for a period of substantial flux.
