Gegeneophis seshachari Ravichandran, Gower, and Wilkinson, 2003, Zootaxa, 350: 2. Holotype: ZSIC A3384, by original designation. Type locality: "Dorle Village, Ratnagiri District, Maharashtra, India".

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Dorle Village, Ratnagiri District, Maharashtra) in the Western Ghats of southwestern India).

Comment

Gower, Giri, and Wilkinson, 2007, Herpetozoa, Wien, 19: 121-127, reported on an additional specimen from the type locality. Bhatta, Dinesh, Prashanth, Kulkarni, and Radhakrishnan, 2010, J. Threatened Taxa, 2: 1105-1108, provided a dot-map of the species. A brief characterization, photograph, and dot map provided by Subramanian, Dinesh, and Radhakrishnan, 2013, Atlas of Endemic Amph. W. Ghats: 175. Sreekumar and Dinesh, 2020, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, 120: 33–40, discussed the range in Maharashtra, India, in terms of agro-climatic zones.
