30 December 2024: Added Boulenophrys gaolanensis (Megophryidae), named by Song, Wang, Qi, Wang, and Wang, 2024, Asian Herpetol. Res., 15: 251–264, from Gaolan Island, Guangdong Province, China. No Zoobank registration so date of publication will extend from date of distribution of paper copies of the journal to libraries (date currently unknown–DRF).

27 November 2024: Added a comment under Aneides niger (Plethodontidae), noting the publication of Kong, Corl, and Reilly, 2024, J. Fish Wildl. Management, 15: 17–30, who reported on molecular phylogeography and range suitability over time under changing climate regimes. Beside the fact that the future of this particular salamander is at some risk, I (DRF) think that this paper is a conceptual model of how we should be looking at conservation plans in a time of climate change.
22 November 2024: Added Raorchestes asakgrensis named by Naveen, Chandramouli, and Babu in Naveen, Chandramouli, Babu, Ryndongsngi, Karunakaran, and Kumara, 2024, Herpetozoa, Wien, 37: 359–37, from Meghalaya, India. On the basis of morphology and molecular evidence, Philautus kempiae and Philautus garo were moved into Raorchestes (Rhacophoridae), as Raorchestes kempiae and Raorchestes garo, and Raorchestes cangyuanensis was placed into the synonymy of Raorchestes kempiae.
17 November 2024: Following Nečas, Kielgast, Chinemerem, Rödel, Dolinay, and Gvoždík, 2024, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 202(4): 1–19, Hyperolius guttatus and Hyperolius ibadanensis were recognized as species and removed from subspecies status under Hyperolius concolor. Hyperolius hildebrandtii is placed in the synonymy of Hyperolius guttatus, and the phylogenetic position of Hyperolius sankuruensis is detailed via molecular markers within a larger discussion of the structure of the Hyperolius concolor group.
17 November 2024: Added Caecilia truncata and Caecilia tesoro (Caeciliidae), both named from northwestern Ecuador by Bock, Arroba-López, Velez-Giler, Moreira, Wiedebusch, Neira-Salamea, Wilkinson, Fuchs, Schönleitner, Rödel, and Ron, 2024, Salamandra, 60: 209–236, who provided a detailed discussion of morphology, osteology, and molecular markers.
15 November 2024: Added Atelopus colomai (Bufonidae), named by Plewnia, Terán-Valdez, Culebras, Boistel, Paluh, Quezada Riera, Heine, Reyes-Puig, Salazar-Valenzuela, Guayasamin, and Lötters, 2024, Salamandra, 60: 237–253, from the Upper Amazonian Basin in Ecuador (Pastaza and Orellana Provinces).
15 November 2024: Modified the range statement for Oedipina elongata (Plethodontidae) and added a comment under that record noting the publication of Rivera-Yurrita and Vásquez-Almazán, 2024, Rev. Administrative landholdings part of the Hacienda Talahua, a landed estate owned by the Cordovez family from 1861 until 1982, located on a mountainous area on the western slope of the Cordillera Occidental of the Andes of Ecuador, between 1500 and 1800 m elevation, Bolívar province, Republic of Ecuador. Coordinates focus point: -1.2630, -79.1175, radius: 2 km", following the discussion by Cisneros-Heredia and Sherwood, 2024, Zootaxa, 5537: 571–576.
10 November 2024: Added Bolitoglossa chiquitica and Bolitoglossa silentium (Plethodontidae), named by Arias, Chaves, Kubicki, and Parra-Olea, 2024, Zootaxa, 5537: 211–233, from Costa Rica. These descriptions are imbedded in an extremely useful discussion of the Bolitoglossa (Eladinea) diminuta group with cogent discussion of several outstanding problems remaining.
8 November 2024: Upgraded distribution statements for many species in northeastern Africa (Egypt, Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia) and added comments noting the publication of Spawls, Mazuch, and Mohammad, 2023, Handb. Amph. Rept. NE Afr., who provided an account for the species in this region addressing identification, natural history, conservation status, and range, including range maps.
