Running log of additions and changes, 2021

I attempt to summarize here what work I have done on ASW 6.1 starting 1 January 2021. (Previous logs of additions and changes are here.) This log does not include error corrections and the like and I cannot promise that there will not be errors of omission or commission inasmuch as this log is not being constructed automatically and focuses on publications rather than on particular changes and fixes.

14 April 2021: Added Atelopus fronterizo (Bufonidae), named by Veselý and Batista, 2021, Zool. Res., Kunming, 42: 272–279, from the Darien Mountain range of Panama and Colombia.  

14 April 2021: Added Limnonectes beloncioi (Dicroglossidae), named by Herr, Vallejos, Meneses, Abraham, Otterholt, Siler, Rico, and Brown, 2021, Ichthyol. & Herpetol., 109: 188–210, from Mindoro Island in the Philippines. 

13 April 2021: Added a comment under Boana raniceps (Hylidae), noting the publication of Camurugi, Gehara, Fonseca, Zamudio, Haddad, Colli, Thomé, Prado, Napoli, and Garda, 2021, J. Biogeograph., 48: 760–772, who reported on molecular phylogeography.          

11 April 2021: Revised the ranges of Indosylvirana nicobariensis and Sylvirana lacrima (Rhacophoridae) to conform to the molecular results published by Lalronunga, Vanramliana, Sailo, Zosangliana, Lalmuanpuia, Lalhmangaiha, Sailo, Lalrinchhana, and Lalhmingliani, 2021, Zootaxa, 4952: 596–600, who considered all mainland India, Bangladesh, and western Myanmar records of Indosylvirana nicobariensis to be based on misidentified Sylvirana lacrima.

A non-taxonomic section of great interest is the discussion of mtDNA and nuDNA discordance, a must-read for those who think that a quick-and-dirty tree of a little bit of 12S or 16S mtDNA will allow them to overturn results based on nuDNA studies.
