In Dendropsophus but unnassigned to group according to Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 93. See Barrio-Amorós, Rojas-Runjaic, and Señaris, 2019, Amph. Rept. Conserv., 13 (1: e180): 73–74, for comments on range, systematics (including it in the Dendropsophus minutus group), and literature, and who suggested that it may have disappeared from the Caracas area due to rapid expansion of the city and for confident assessment of its status the populations of Dendropsophus aff. minutus in the Venezuelan Andes and the Cordillera de la Costa need to be carefully studied. In the Dendropsophus columbianus group of Orrico, Grant, Faivovich, Rivera-Correa, Rada, Lyra, Cassini, Valdujo, Schargel, Machado, Wheeler, Barrio-Amorós, Loebmann, Moravec, Zina, Solé, Sturaro, Peloso, Suárez, and Haddad, 2021, Cladistics, 37: 73–105.
