Eterovick and Sazima, 2004, Anf. Serra do Cipó: 109-110, provided a photograph and brief account. Andrade, Haga, Lyra, Carvalho, Haddad, Giaretta, and Toledo, 2018, Eur. J. Taxon., 480: 1–25, compared this species' morphology and call to Pseudopaludicola matuta. Eterovick, Souza, and Sazima, 2020, Anf. Serra do Cipó: 1–292, provided an account, life history information, and an identification scheme for the Serra de Cipó, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
