Leptodactylus tapiti Sazima and Bokermann, 1978, Rev. Brasil. Biol., 38: 910. Holotype: WCAB 47622, by original designation; now MZUSP 73680, according to de Sá, Grant, Camargo, Heyer, Ponssa, and Stanley, 2014, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 9(Spec. Issue 1): 47. Type locality: "Chapada dos Veadeiros, (1800 m), Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Goiás, Brasil".

English Names

Distribution

Known from  two localities in Goiás, Brazil (Alto Paraíso de Goiás and Serra do Tombador Nature Reserve).

Comment

In the Leptodactylus gracilis group (=Leptodactylus fuscus group), according to the original publication. Brandão, Álvares, and de Sá, 2013, Zootaxa, 36: 284–286, reported the advertisement call. In the Leptodactylus fuscus species group of de Sá, Grant, Camargo, Heyer, Ponssa, and Stanley, 2014, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 9(Spec. Issue 1): 1–123, and who provided a summary of relevant literature (adult and larval morphology, identification, advertisement call, and range) on pp. 47–48. Vaz-Silva, Maciel, Nomura, Morais, Guerra Batista, Santos, Andrade, Oliveira, Brandão, and Bastos, 2020, Guia Ident. Anf. Goiás e Dist. Fed. Brasil Central: 132, provided an account. Carvalho, Seger, Magalhães, Lourenço, and Haddad, 2021, Zool. Scripta, 50: 300–317, reported on the phylogenetics and distribution of this species as part of the Leptodactylus plaumanni clade of the Leptodactylus fuscus group. Guerra Batista, Ramalho, Machado, and Brandão, 2022, Arq. Zool., São Paulo, 53: 33–51, provided a record from the Serra do Tombador Nature Reserve, Goiás, Brazil, as part of a biodiversity study of that region.
