Amietia poyntoni Channing and Baptista, 2013, Zootaxa, 3640: 511. Holotype: ZMB 78566, by original designation. Type locality: "Dargle, KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa, 13 Dec 2009 (29° 30′ S; 30° 01′ E)". 

English Names

Poynton's River Frog (original publication). 


Naukluft Mountains in southern Namibia, along the Fish River to the Orange River, across to the east coast, and north through South Africa and approaching, but not reaching, the border with Zimbabwe. 


The sister taxon of Amietia angolensis and onfused with it prior to its naming according to the original publication.
