Comment
Yang, Lu, and Li, 2010, Asian Herpetol. Res., Ser. 2, 1: 97-102, reported on molecular evidence that supports the recognition of Rana maoershanensis. Yan, Jiang, Chen, Fang, Jin, Li, Wang, Murphy, Che, and Zhang, 2011, Asian Herpetol. Res., Ser. 2, 2: 67, disputed the evidence with additional sequence data and placed it in the synonymy of Rana hanluica as First Revisors. : 70–78, provided additional evidence for the distinctiveness of Rana maorshanensisis as did Zhou and Yang, 2014, J. Changchun Normal Univ., 2014: 70–76. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2012, Colored Atlas Chinese Amph. Distr.: 318, provided and account and a range map for China. Zhou, Wang, Zhu, Li, Yang, and Ma, 2017, PLoS One, 12(4: e0175113): 1–15, found Rana maroershanensis to be the sister taxon of the Rana japonica group.
