Distribution

Known from three nearby localities in Zamora Chinchipe Province, Ecuador: (1) the Cerro Toledo sector of the Parque Nacional Podocarpus; (2) from about 10 km to the south, inside Parque Nacional Podocarpus in the vicinity of Reserva Tapichalaca; and (3) from another 5 km further in the south in the Reserva Tapichalaca. The specimens were encountered at an altitudinal range between 2800 and 3100 m in subpáramo ecosystems

In the Pristimantis orestes group, Pristimantis colodactylus subgroup, according to the original publication, where comparative morphometrics and molecular markers were detailed.
