Comment
Transferred to Alsodes from Telmatobius by Veloso, Sallaberry-Ayerza, Navarro, Iturra-Constant, Valencia, Penna, and Diaz, 1982, in Veloso and Bustos (eds.), El Ambiente Nat. y Los Pobl. Humanas de los Andes: 204. This transferral supported by larval data supplied by Diaz and Valencia, 1985, Copeia, 1985: 175, on the basis of larval morphology. Cei, 1962, Batr. Chile: 61-62, discussed the species as Telmatobius montanus. Veloso, Sallaberry-Ayerza, Navarro, Iturra-Constant, Valencia, Penna, and Diaz, 1982, in Veloso and Bustos (eds.), El Ambiente Nat. y Los Pobl. Humanas de los Andes: 181-192, provided an account (as Telmatobius montanus). Correa-Quezada, Sallaberry-Ayerza, Iturra-Constant, Collado, and Méndez-Torres, 2008, Check List, 4: 467-471, discussed the range and provided specific localities in Chile. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 294. See Lobos, Vidal-Maldonado, Correa-Quezada, Labra-Lillo, Díaz-Páez, Charrier, Rabanal, Díaz-Vidal, and Tala, 2013, Anf. Chile Conserv. 1–104, for photograph, comments on conservation status, and range in Chile. Ramírez-Álvarez, 2015, Bol. Chil. Herpetol., 2: 17–19, provided a record from the Provincia de Cachapoal, Región de O`Higgins, and discussed the range. Mora, Horta–Pizarro, Soffia, Charrier, Palma, and Correa-Quezada, 2015, Bol. Chil. Herpetol., 2: 8–11, provided information on range and habitat.
