Distribution
Western slopes of the Nahuelbuta Range, Bio Bio Region, and Tregualemu, extreme southwestern Maule Region, Chile.

In the Alsodes monticola group of Formas and Vera, 1983, Copeia, 1983: 1104-1107. Brieva and Formas, 2004, Amphibia-Reptilia, 25: 151–164, reported on larval morphology. Puente-Torres, Barceló, and Simonetti, 2017, Check List, 13(6): 813–816, reported the species in Tregualema, Maule Region, Chile, in pine plantations. Rabanal and Alarcón, 2010, Check List, 6: 362–363, provided records from the Nahuelbuta Range, southern Chile.
