Species World: 22, and Schätti, Perret, and Mariaux, 2002, Cat. Comm. Types Amph. Rept. Mus. Hist. Nat. Geneve, Vers. 4.0 (Jan. 2002): 5. Type locality: "Mouandong, env. 1350 m", Cameroon.

Common Names

Perret's Night Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 37).

Distribution

Southern slopes of Mount Manenguba and on the Bamileke Plateau on Mount Bana and Mount Nlonako, 1140–1400 m elevation, Cameroon.

In the Astylosternus perreti group of Amiet, 1978 "1977", Ann. Fac. Sci. Cameroun, 23–24: 99-227. Herrmann, Böhme, Herrmann, Plath, Schmitz, and Solbach, 2005, Salamandra, 41: 61–81, reported the species from Nkebe Waterfall and Nguéngué, southwestern Cameroon. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 150.
