Distribution
Cameroon Range, in the submontane zone, western Cameroon, and adjacent southeastern Nigeria, 800–1450 m elevation.

Herrmann, Böhme, Herrmann, Plath, Schmitz, and Solbach, 2005, Salamandra, 41: 61–81, reported the species from Nkebe Waterfall and Nguéngué, southwestern Cameroon.See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 152. Mapouyat, Hirschfeld, Rödel, Liedtke, Loader, Gonwouo, Dahmen, Doherty-Bone, and Barej, 2014, Zootaxa, 3765: 29–53, reported on larval morphology. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 252–253, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map.
