Distribution
Known from the type locality (Projeto Dacnis Private Reserve in Ubatuba, state of São Paulo), and two additional localities, based on acoustic records: Corcovado, Municipality of Ubatuba, São Paulo, and Trilha do Corisco, Municipality of Paraty, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Comment
Comparative morphology and osteology, acoustics, and molecular markers detailed in the original publication, where this species was placed as the sister taxon of Brachycephalus hermogenesi. Noted in the original publication as previously treated as Brachycephalus sp. by Bornschein, Ribeiro, Teixeira, Belmonte-Lopes, Moraes, Corrêa, Maurício, Nadaline, and Pie, 2021, PeerJ, 9 (e10983): 1–42.
