Oliveira, Coco, Pagotto, Pralon, Vrcibradic, Pombal, and Rocha, 2012, Check List, 8: 242-244, provided a record for Espíritu Santo, Brazil, and commented on the range. Ferreira, Mônico, Silva, Lirio, Zocca, Mageski, Tonini, Beard, Duca, and Silva-Soares, 2019, ZooKeys, 857: 152, noted an unnamed species, "Brachycephalus aff. didactylus" in the region of Santa Teresa, Espírito Santo, Brazil.
