Syntypes: Not designated but AL-MNRJ 720-721 considered syntypes by Bokermann, 1966, Lista Anot. Local. Tipo Anf. Brasil.: 65; USNM 96846 considered a syntype by Cochran, 1961, Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 220: 61. AL-MN 719, designated lectotype by Heyer, 1985, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 98: xxx. Type locality: "Itatiaia et Serra de Cubatâo", Brazil. Lectotype from Campo Bello, Alto da Serra de Cubatão Alto Itatiaia, state of São Paulo, Brazil. Berneck, Targino, and Garcia, 2013, Zootaxa, 3692: 139, noted that the other original syntypes may not be of this species.

Distribution
Parque das Neblinas (Bertioga municipality), Paranapiacaba (Santo André municipality), and Boracéia (Salesópolis municipality), all localities in the Serra do Mar, eastern São Paulo State, Brazil.
