Ischnocnema surda Canedo, Pimenta, Leite, and Caramaschi, 2010, Copeia, 2010: 630. Holotype: MNRJ 57808, by original designation. Type locality: "Brazil, state of Minas Gerais, municipality of Ouro Preto, Estação Ecológica do Tripuí, 20° 23′ 06″ S, 43° 32′ 24″ W".

Distribution

Semideciduous Atlantic Rainforest in the municipalities of Ouro Preto, Marliéria, Rio Piracicaba, Santa Bárbara, and Mariana, all at 750–950 m in the Serra do Espinhaço, from the central region of Minas Gerais, to the northern region of the state of Bahia, northeastern Brazil.

Related to Ischnocnema verrucosus and Ischnocnema octavioi according to the original publication. In the Ischnocnema verrucosa species series of Canedo and Haddad, 2012, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 65: 610-620, and corroborated by Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 122.
