Eleutherodactylus zugi erythroproctus Schwartz, 1960, Sci. Publ. Reading Public Mus. Art Gallery, 11: 33. Holotype: AMNH 63263, by original designation. Type locality: "Pan de Matanzas, 2.5 mi. south of Corral Nuevo, Matanzas Province, Cuba".

Sierra to Camarones and Pan de Matanzas, Matanzas and Mayabeque Provinces, Cuba.

Comment

 Díaz and Cádiz, 2007, Herpetotropicos, Mérida, 3: 100–122, reported on the advertisement call as Eleutherodactylus zugi erythroproctus. In the Eleutherodactylus (Euhyas) zugi species series of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 84 (who also recognized this taxon as a species), and of Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 131. Díaz and Cádiz, 2008, Guía Taxon. Anf. Cuba: 74-–5, treated this taxon as a subspecies of Eleutherodactylus zugiHenderson and Powell, 2009, Nat. Hist. Rept. Amph. W. Indies: 49–50, summarized the natural history literature. Rivalta González, Rodríguez Schettino, Mancina, and Iturriaga, 2014, Smithson. Herpetol. Inform. Serv., 145: 33, provided a dot map and localities.
