Distribution

Hispaniola; the Tiburon Peninsula of Haiti, Los Arroyos in Pedernales Province and the extreme eastern Sierra de Baoruco, Barahona Province, Dominican Republic, 0–1697 m elevation.

In the Eleutherodactylus auriculatus group according to the original publication. Schwartz, 1965, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 78: 167, elevated this form to species status without explanation; it has been so treated since (J.D. Lynch in Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 294). Reviewed by Schwartz, 1983, Cat. Am.
