Eleutherodactylus intermedius Barbour and Shreve, 1937, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 80: 384. Holotype: MCZ 21965, by original designation. Type locality: "near Cueva del Aura, Turquino Peak, 1500-4000 feet, Oriente [now Santiago de Cuba Province], Cuba".
