Comment

Schwartz and Fowler, 1973, Stud. Fauna Curaçao and other Caribb. Is., 43: 118, first suggested that Eleutherodactylus pantoni pentasyringos may actually be a distinct species. Subsequently, Hedges, 1989, in Woods (ed.), Biogeograph. W. Indies: 321. recognized Eleutherodactylus pentasyringos as distinct and in his Eleutherodactylus (Euhyas) luteolus series, Eleutherodactylus gossei group. In the Eleutherodactylus (Euhyas) gossei group of Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 230. In the Eleutherodactylus (Euhyas) luteolus species series, Eleutherodactylus luteolus species group, Eleutherodactylus gossei species subgroup of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 71–72. In the Eleutherodactylus (Euhyas) luteolus species series, Eleutherodactylus luteolus species group of Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 130. See map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 366. Henderson and Powell, 2009, Nat. Hist. Rept. Amph. W. Indies: 70, summarized the natural history literature.
