Geobatrachus walkeri Ruthven, 1915, Occas. Pap. Mus. Zool. Univ. Michigan, 20: 2. Holotype: UMMZ 47785, by original designation and according to Peters, 1952, Occas. Pap. Mus. Zool. Univ. Michigan, 539: 15. Type locality: "San Lorenzo, (altitude of 8,000 feet) Santa Marta Mountains, Colombia". Kluge, 1983, Misc. Publ. Mus. Zool. Univ. Michigan, 166: 41, refined the type locality to "summit of San Lorenzo".

Northwestern and western slopes of the Sierra Santa Marta, Colombia, 1550-2870 m elevation.
