Breviceps poweri Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 195. Holotype: BMNH 1932.9.9.1, by original designation; reregistered 1947.2.14.89, by museum records. Type locality: "Broken Hill, N. Rhodesia, 3,900 ft." (= Kabwe, Zambia).

Eastern Angola (see comment) east through Zambia, southern Katanga Province (Dem. Rep. Congo), and eastern Malawi, to west-central Mozambique and northeastern Zimbabwe.
