Known only from Bario, 1000–1150 m elevation, Kelabit Highlands, state of Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo.

Comment

The sister taxon of Ansonia platysoma according to the original publication, where adult and larval morphology, advertisement call, and molecular markers (mtDNA) were detailed. Prior to formal naming this species was identified as Ansonia sp. 3 by Matsui, Tominaga, Liu, Khonsue, Grismer, Diesmos, Das, Sudin, Imbun, Yong, Sukumaran, and Brown, 2010, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 54: 561–570.
