See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 159. Matsui, Nishikawa, Eto, and Hossman, 2020, Zool. Sci., Tokyo, 37: 99, noted that the report of a larva of Ansonia platysoma is based on (the then-unnamed) Ansonia kanak.
