Distribution

Known only from the type locality in cloud forest on the western versant of the southern Cordillera Oriental in the Parque Nacional Natural Cueva de los Guácharo, Huila, ca.  1950 m elevation, as well as from the imprecise locality of the Florencia- Altamira road, La Esperanza site, 2160 m, Caquetá. Colombia.

Comment

Most closely related to Atelopus guitarraensis on the basis of morphological similarity, according to the original publication, where comparative external morphology and osteology were detailed. Ramírez, 2026, Rev. Latinoam. Herpetol., 9: 231–232, discussed the distribution and provided a new locality (p. 239) from Caquetá Department, Colombia.
